A workshop that is aimed at deepening early childhood teachers’ understanding of how to engage children in art viewing and art appreciation linked to art making.
Engaging with artists’ works is a vital and valuable way of art learning for infants, toddlers and young children. In early childhood education the focus continues to be primarily on art making activities and often ignores the importance of children’s art viewing and art appreciation experiences linked to art making.
This workshop is intended for both the infant/toddler and pre-school teacher. Participants will be encouraged to explore their pedagogy around art viewing, art appreciation and art making through meaningful hands-on experiences and group discussion.
